Study in Sweden from Bangladesh
Sweden, a Scandinavian country in Northern Europe, is known for its innovation, sustainability, and high standard of education. It shares borders with Norway and Finland, and has a long coastline along the Baltic Sea. As a member of the European Union and the Schengen Zone, Sweden offers international students the chance to study and travel freely across Europe.
With a population of around 10.5 million, Sweden is one of the most advanced and progressive countries in the world. English is widely spoken, and most people are fluent, especially in urban areas and universities. This makes it easy for international students to study, work, and live comfortably without a language barrier.
Sweden has become a top destination for Bangladeshi students due to its high-quality education, modern teaching methods, part-time work opportunities, and post-study work visa options. In recent years, thousands of students from Bangladesh have applied to Swedish universities in fields such as Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Environmental Science, and Public Health.
Swedish universities focus on practical learning, research, and innovation. Institutions like Lund University, Uppsala University, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, and Stockholm University are highly ranked and internationally recognized. These universities offer a wide range of English-taught programs and have a strong reputation for academic excellence and career prospects.

Sweden in Brief
Why Sweden for Higher Education?
Sweden has a growing community of South Asian students, including many from Bangladesh. The multicultural society, English-friendly environment, and safe cities make it easier for Bangladeshi students to adapt and feel comfortable.
International students in Sweden can work unlimited hours during their studies, as long as it doesnโt affect academic performance. Many students work part-time in restaurants, tech companies, or as interns.
Students enrolled in programs longer than 12 months are entitled to Swedish public healthcare. For shorter programs, universities help arrange affordable health insurance covering necessary medical services.
Some universities in Sweden accept MOI (Medium of Instruction) as proof of English proficiency, removing the need for IELTS. However, a bank statement is generally required for the residence permit (student visa).
After graduation, students can apply for a one-year residence permit to search for a job. Once employed, they can apply for a work permit and later become eligible for permanent residency.
